Mark and Kerry McDougall (and family)

Mark and Kerry's story has been told in various places. They are now living in Scotland having left Fife because the local authority said Kerry did not have the capacity to marry Mark and look after their son. They now have two children.

Thank you for the update on this lovely family. What is not so lovely however is the details of the behaviour of Fife Social Services.. In the normal scheme of things they would be sued for defamation but they would only hide behind the 'system' and no 'lessons would be learnt' for it is the ordinary taxpayer who would pay for their crimes.. Social Workers need to appreciate that to be considered as a professional they need to have integrity and be personally accountable for their actions.

Why are babies born young? This sounds like an odd question. People would say "of course babies are born young". However, this goes to the core of the question of human (or animal) development. Why is it that as time passes people develop initially through puberty and then for women through menopause and more generally getting diseases such as sarcopenia, osteoporosis, diabetes and cancer, but most of the time babies start showing no signs of this.
