This is an interesting story about Hong Kong where the Chinese government committee selected leader is under threat as a result of building without planning permission.
The link is in Russian about the imprisonment of Norman Scarth who is actually 85. He has a complex history including a court hearing which found that he used a chainsaw to fight off bailiffs when he was 75. [a court judgment which is disputed see comments] However, that does not justify imprisoning him for 6 months for recording a court hearing (see the link and ask google to translate it if your Russian is not up to it).
It has got into the Argyll News
Because he has been held such that people cannot get to him to sign paperwork an application for a writ of Habeas Corpus was made today. This has been adjourned until next week.
The English judicial system is really not good at responding to major abuses of human rights by the judicial system.

point being in China they actually respect the rights of the individual over the psychotic minority with power/ immunity from prosecution....
similar local story in UK few weeks ago, heavily armed anon psycopaths broke in abducted the guy, no notice, stripped him naked/ gang rape left battered naked in c old concrete cell whilst filming him for at least a day from what i can gather....so they could wreck his house and steall all his personal belongings, was the official reason.....guy was in his seventies as well....all because it's considered more convenient than behaving like reasonable decent humans? or because they enjoy it? there is no sane or sound reason for attacking anybody, obviously (you mastwed a few million taxpayers' money establishing that simple fact)...but they get psychoanalysts to 'officially' certify a lot of the attacks these days....
still homeless as far as i know....
but with all the propaganda some gullible numpties could almost be forgiven for believing that china has a worse record on 'human rights'....they also sometimes hold govt officials to account/ execute them...they're also prepared to let you know WHO they are....it's probably even legal to defend to yourself in china!
