Suicide over 3K legal bill

The link is to a story about someone committing suicide as a result of a 3K bill from Treasury Solicitors.

I agree with the European COurt of Human Rights that Judicial Review with its costs is not an adequate remedy for the misbehaviour of the state.

If this was thrown out because there was no contractual relationship with Hazel Blears surely it wasn't a JR?

You may be right, but the point is about how to get government to act within the law.

That is very sad news, obviously he was a good guy just trying to help others.

Yes - but it does make that case a bit irrelevant to the point you are trying to make and it could be suggested you are trying to make capital out of a tragedy

The issue is that in respect of the implications of costs in terms of fighting the government.

That is one big issue in respect of JR.

NHS reorganisation No 3,493,233

Followers of my blog will have seen the NHS question about how many reorganisations have we had. We've yet another. The number of PCTs (Primary Care Trusts) nationally is to halve. This means merging East and North. (and then probably HoB and south). It would be nice if people would stick with one structure.
