Labour MPs refer me to Standards Commissioner for asking questions about the weather

I have just been phoned by someone from the national media telling me that one or more Labour MPs have referred me to the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner for asking questions about the weather.

Apparently they think I have a financial interest in it.

As all regular readers of this blog will know the weather is important for determining gas usage. I am told they have also approached my Whip about the issue. I have phoned my whip and he says that noone has spoken to him.

I have emailed the Labour MP who is supposed to have complained to find out what he is on about.

If they don't understand the importance of past weather data in observing current trends in markets sensitive to temperature they might be guilty of the criticism so often made of labour MPs that they are dumb lobby fodder who find...finking... difficult.

Very intellectual Thomas. Such political analysis!

I thank you kind sir!

I won't labour the point about how New Labour have carefully crafted a party machine that generates very nice but unimaginative MPs.

Six months for recording a court hearing - Norman Scarth

The link is in Russian about the imprisonment of Norman Scarth who is actually 85. He has a complex history including a court hearing which found that he used a chainsaw to fight off bailiffs when he was 75. [a court judgment which is disputed see comments] However, that does not justify imprisoning him for 6 months for recording a court hearing (see the link and ask google to translate it if your Russian is not up to it). It has got into the Argyll News Because he has been held such that people cannot get to him to sign paperwork an application for a writ of Habeas Corpus was made today. This has been adjourned until next week. The English judicial system is really not good at responding to major abuses of human rights by the judicial system.
